Library Director

The Library Director serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Library and is responsible for the administration of all library functions within the goals, guidelines, and policies established by the Library Board of Trustees. 


The Director is expected to provide a leadership role within the library, the community, and the library profession. The Director serves as the official representative of the library.


The Library Director will support the Corbin Public Library’s Mission by

  1. serving as the chief operating officer of the library

  2. insuring that patrons receive excellent service

  3. developing community partnerships

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Degree in Library Science or BS/BA in a related field or five years’ experience in library operations with at least two of those years in management. 

  • High level of comfort with technology. 

  • Work toward and obtain a paraprofessional certificate in librarianship within 5 years as governed by KRS 171.300 and defined by KRS 171.240-KRS 171.300.


Working hours will include daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Circulation Clerk


We have an opening for a part-time circulation clerk position.

Primary duties include checking out books, shelving, assisting patrons, and helping with programs and events as needed.

Ideal candidates would have customer service experience, good computer skills, and enjoy working as part of a team.
